LONGEST NIGHT: A NIGHT OF SHORT HORROR FILMS As winter draws in and the nights grow darker, Ealing Project presents a selection of short horror films from indie directors to chill the blood. Curated by Stephen Graves. THE AUTEUR (d. Bethany White, UK, 2023, 7 mins) A man tries to write his ideal female character, only for her to gain awareness and rebel against the way he's writing her. THE DEAD OF WINTER (d. Stephen Graves, UK, 2023, 11 mins) After an affluent man leaves a rough sleeper to die in the cold on Christmas Eve, he's haunted by a figure that may be a vengeful spirit – or his own guilty conscience. GNOMES (d. Ruwan Heggelman, Netherlands, 2023, 6 mins) Unknowingly, a girl enters the habitat of a tribe of killer gnomes during her daily run. Lured by mysterious glowing mushrooms, she'll soon wish she'd stayed on her usual tracks. BODY WORN VIDEO (d. Tony Hipwell, UK, 2024, 11 mins) A child abuse call isn't the best way to end a day, but for officers Cane and Adel, it's not just their shift that's about to end. BONE (d. Paul Coleman, USA, 2022, 2 mins) Skellies in love. THE NEW GIRL (d. Savannah Ayoade-Greaves, UK, 2023, 12 mins) On her first day at a new school, Angel gets more than she bargained for when she attracts the attention of ‘it’ girl Grace and her group of friends, who invite her to join their mysterious after-school club. ONLY YOURSELF TO BLAME (d. Noomi Yates, UK, 2023, 9 mins) A girl walking home late at night finds herself being followed by a frightening figure that copies her every movement. SLEEP TALKING (d. Jack Berry, UK, 2024, 4 mins) Simon and Vicky are an ordinary couple whose peaceful nights are shattered by Vicky's sleep talking. Initially dismissed as harmless, Vicky's nocturnal ramblings could be a sign of something darker and more dangerous. THE WITCH HUNTER (d. James Freeman, UK, 2023, 13 mins) An aspiring witch-finder heads to the South Downs in search of a rumoured evil. SAFE (d. David Yorke, UK, 2024, 2 mins) A young woman battles for her life against a relentless masked killer. MURDER CAMP (d. Clara Aranovich, USA, 2023, 15 mins) Two slasher serial killers make the shameful error of serial killing at the same summer camp on the same night, challenging the very fabric of their friendship – and identities.
